If 49ers talks fail, Aiyuk wants Daniels on Commanders.

Aiyuk loves playing for the 49ers. Despite contract negotiations between the outstanding wide receiver and the NFL team that picked him, Aiyuk would play with one of his close pals elsewhere if they fail.

Aiyuk told "The Pivot" podcast that he wants to play alongside Jayden Daniels, a former Arizona State teammate and current Washington Commanders rookie quarterback, if he can't work with the 49ers.

In the podcast, Aiyuk said, "I have one more meeting set up with the 49ers," recorded before his Monday meeting with San Francisco but released Friday.

"We'll see. things would be nice to be traded to Washington and join Daniels if things doesn't go our way.

"It would be great to link up with a great friend of mine, a brother, a great person, teammate and player that I feel can take my game to the next level."

Before being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Daniels caught 65 catches for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns as a Sun Devil in 2019. Daniels was picked second overall by the Commanders in 2024 after two seasons at LSU.

Aiyuk told "The Pivot" podcast he likes playing with quarterback Brock Purdy and the 49ers, even if he wants to play with Daniels.

"I feel like right now, I'm in the right place in the right spot with the right quarterback," Aiyuk. "But we're not on the right terms."
