Lakers beat Grizzlies 136-124 with LeBron James' triple-double.

The Memphis Grizzlies lost 136-124 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night after LeBron James produced a triple-double with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists and Rui Hachimura scored 32 points.

The Lakers won their fifth straight after a 128-124 double-overtime win at Milwaukee without James on Tuesday night,

to move within 2 1/2 games of idle Dallas for the sixth Western Conference slot and escape a play-in game.

Anthony Davis sat out against Memphis following a career-high 52 minutes of 34 points and 23 rebounds against Milwaukee. Late against the Bucks, he hyperextended his left knee.

James noted Hachimura's scoring, including 7 of 8 3-pointers, and 10 rebounds were crucial with Davis out.

James: “Rui's ability to shoot and spread the floor was big time for us. “He stayed locked in all night.”

For Los Angeles, Taurean Prince scored 15 points and D'Angelo Russell added 23.

With 26 points and a career-high 16 assists, Desmond Bane led Memphis. Of his 25 points, Jake LaRavia scored 14 in the fourth quarter, and Jaren Jackson added 17. After seven games, the Grizzlies are down six.
