Sam Heughan Gives Sneak Peek of the Start of Season 8 of 'Outlander'

In the middle of the Droughtlander, Sam Heughan has provided Outlander fans with some holiday cheer and the thought that Season 8 of the Diana Gabaldon-inspired series,

which will be the final season, is starting production —or at least costume fittings—as the hot Scot is taking fans inside the wardrobe department with a video set to the Bear McCreary’s title song,

“The Skye Boat Song” (Choral Version) (feat. Raya Yarbrough)—with the simple note: “Entering the FINAL season….”

Prior to the writers' strike, all sixteen episodes of Season 7 were filmed. The first eight episodes have already been broadcast,

and the remaining eight episodes are scheduled to appear at some point in the year 2024. As of yet, the precise time has not been disclosed.

The Outlander writers were able to resume their work on the eighth season of the show after the strike that they had been participating in ended on September 27.

It is not yet clear what the eighth season of Outlander will be because Gabaldon has not yet completed writing the tenth book in the series,

which has not yet been given a title. This book may or may not be the final installment of the series. She has not disclosed that information yet.
